"Demo" and "Registered" Software

All of our software is distributed as "Demonstration" software. These are full versions with limits on some features (typically restricting the number of patients and data output functions). When you register the software and enter the registration code on you Palm, this unlocks all of the features of the software. All you need to convert a demonstration program to a fully functional registered version is a registration code.

You don't need to download or install any additional software on your Palm when your register. Just enter the registration code that we provide and this will unlock the full functionality of your software.

The demo version of ZapBill comes with small ICD and CPT code subsets. You will want to have more complete code sets when you use the program. Download the Zcpt-All.zip file and the ICD9 Codes for 2005  for complete code sets.

If you are still testing the demo ZapBill program and want to test it with complete code sets, you can load any of the code sets from this file into your Palm for use with the demo version of ZapBill.

ICD and CPT Code Sets:

If you have the ZapBill program, you will want to download the Zcpt-All.zip file and the ICD9 Codes for 2005  for  complete ICD diagnosis code and CPT procedure code sets.
(Note: The ZapBill demo program contains only a small subset of the codes so you will want to load these more complete code sets on your Palm.)

The ICD9 Code set will also work with the ZapICD program and you can load the file to update your program to the latest ICD9 code set.

How to Upgrade to the latest version.

You can upgrade to the latest version by downloading it from the "Products" page. The download contains a complete new version of the software.

Read the "ReadMe.txt" file which is contained in the product download. It will give you instructions for upgrading. Usually you only need to install the new ".prc" file. This is the new upgraded program file. If you need to install new data files (".pdb" files), the ReadMe.txt file in the will give you instructions.

It's also a good idea to print out the new manual which will contain complete instructions for the new version.

Most upgrades are free and your existing registration code will work with the new version. If you just install the new ".prc" file, your PalmOS handheld will retain your registration code.

ZapBeam.prc

If you want to use the beaming function to send information to another Palm handheld, you'll need to install this ZapBeam.PRC program file.

How to run ZapMed software on your Windows Desktop

You can download the a PalmOS Windows emulator from the "Products" page.

This zip file contains a standalone Palm emulator with ZapCode and ZapBill preinstalled.

To run the emulator, just doubleclick on the ZapMedDemoEmulator.exe file.

You can use your current registration codes with the Palm emulator versions of the software by following this procedure:

- Start the Palm Emulator program.
- Hold the mouse over the screen an "Right Click".
- Choose "Properties" from the context menu
- At the bottom of the Properties box, enter your Palm hotsync username
- Click OK to save the new information
- Start ZapBill or ZapCode
- Choose the Menu/File/Register option and enter your registration number (same as your Palm handheld).

Note:
You can also install updated version of the software and databases on the emulator:
- Right Click on the emulator
- Choose "Install Application/Database" from the menu.
- Choose "Other"
- Browse to the location of the file you want to install:
(This will be either ZapBill.prc or ZapCode.prc for new program files or the "pdb" database files.)

Palm Installation Utility:

PInstall.zip This is a nice installation utility program that gives a progress indicator. Some of the data files are large and can take more than an hour to install. This program will let you know how the installation is progressing.

Palm File Utility:

ZarfCatalog.prc This is a file utility that will let you see all of the files on your Palm handheld. You can also use it (with caution) to clean up unused files and set files for backup to your desktop.

Zip Files

We distribute most of our files as "zipped" files to save download time and to package several files together. If your computer does not have an "unzip" utility installed, you can use the program below.

If you need a Zip file extractor for the PC or Macintosh:

Aladdin Systems Stuffit Expander (Freeware)

Zsub.pdb Problems?

ZBSetup.zip Some Macintosh users are having trouble installing the Zsub.pdb file (error 4114).

They can install this program, run it once, and it will create the Zsub.pdb file on the Palm.

Adobe Acrobat Reader

Most of our documentation is distributed in Adobe Acrobat format so that it can be easily read on all types of computers (even your Palm!).
